Raphaela Mota G. Gurgel
Oceanologist
Born in Rio de Janeiro, but since the beginning of her graduation, the seas and estuaries of the south brought her close. She graduated from the Federal University of Rio Grande (FURG) and has worked in several research and conservation projects in Brazil and abroad. Passionate about cetacean research – focusing on photo-identification and animal behavior -, she is also passionate about environmental education and scientific communication. She currently works as a researcher in conservation and ecology projects for marine megafauna.
