Caminhos do Mar (Ways of the Sea) is formed by a multidisciplinary group of professionals who believe in the potential of the Babitonga Ecosystem.
The Babitonga Ecosystem has incredible biodiversity and stunning landscapes, which represent enormous potential for the development of nature-based tourism. This can be an important alternative to combine economic development and environmental conservation, both crucial to our future.
Nature-based tourism is growing all over the world. Its principles are environmental conservation and community involvement, with a very positive impact on local production arrangements. But, in order to develop it in a sustainable way, it is necessary to build guidelines based on technical knowledge.
Caminhos do Mar is formed by a diverse group of professionals, with different academic backgrounds, who believe in the potential of the Babitonga Ecosystem. With the support of Fundação Grupo Boticário (The Boticário Group Foundation) and conducted by the University of the Region of Joinville – UNIVILLE, in partnership with the Instituto Federal Catarinense de São Francisco do Sul – IFC SFS (Federal Institute of the state of Santa Catarina), this journey begins with the natural riches associated with the region’s waters, seeking to promote what we are calling ENBT – Embarked nature- based Tourism.
